Q. What time does the Festival start and what about parking?
A. The date is Sunday October 14th and it’s from 12-4 pm at Lions Park on Gray Rd. There is street parking on Gray Rd, Pemberton, Rutland Rd S, Dougall Rd & Valleyview Rd.
Q. Is the scarecrow event suitable for disabled people?
A. We will have some parking at Lions Park with handicapped parking signs.
Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. We have a lot going on so please leave your pets at home. We are also a NON SMOKING EVENT.
Q. How many scarecrows are available to be built?
A. We have just over 125 scarecrows available to be built that day. If you want to “premake” your scarecrow, call us to register, 250.451.9861. *Please note there are only 25 premade scarecrow spots available.
Q. Can we bring our own clothes and props to build our scarecrow and can we take it home afterwards?
A. Yes!! We encourage that and we would love you to take your scarecrows home, it would look great on your front porch or yard for Halloween!
Q. What are the categories for the Scarecrow Competition?
A. Premade: Most Original & Best represents your business and or organization
Onsite: Most Original & Best represents your business and or organization and made by a family or group.
People’s Choice: the community will also get a chance to pick their favourite!
Q. What do the winners receive and when will they be announced?
A. Save on Foods has donated gift cards for this year’s winners, plus each winner will receive a certificate.
Q. What other things are there at Scarecrow:
A. We have lots to entertain your entire family: inflatables thanks to the City of Kelowna & Get Hoppy Party Rentals, Bounce for Hire interactive games and sports, craft stations, face painting
Q. Will there be entertainment?
A. Yes of course there will be entertainment! This year the entertainment will be roaming throughout the park, so you can enjoy them all while you’re with your kids at the many stations we have set up. Here is who we have coming to perform for you. We will have Johnny V, Adam Tishenko, Kiki the Stilt Walker &Ryan Michael- Magician
Q. Will there be vendors, foodies or community groups on site?
A. The festival is all about community and we will have over 25 vendors/community groups on site and 6 foodies for you to enjoy. We will also have an ATM on site just in case you need more money.
Q. How does the Uptown Rutland Business Association make this happen?
A. We are very fortunate to have so many sponsors, volunteers and community partners who help us make it all happen. All we ask of you is please support their businesses, so they can continue to support events such as this.
